Create the Perfect Outdoor Fireplace

There are several different options for outdoor fireplaces, with the most popular ones being fire pits and chimineas. Fire pits can be constructed in a cement mold and be permanently attached to your home, or they can be purchased as an addition to your patio. Portable fire pits are more simple constructions: a metal basin and top, with a surrounding wire screen. Both sustain fires for long periods of time and maintain a safe environment because the fire stays contained within the unit.

Chimineas, which can be made of clay or cast iron, hold smaller fires, but they still produce a large amount of heat. Since Chimineas come in several shapes and sizes and can fit on even the smallest patio, they are a great way to add a creative touch to your patio and yard.

Be sure to position your fire pit or chiminea so that it sits downwind of you and your guests to avoid accidental spark burns and smoke; but still allow your outdoor fireplace to be the focal point of your yard or patio, and enjoy the warmth and beauty they can provide for your family and guests!
